Our April millionaires are truly ‘Spring Loaded’

April was also the month when some of our previous winners loaned a hand at Lucky Ewe, just one of the amazing projects supported with funding made possible by National Lottery players.

Based at Bonnyton Farm in Fife, Lucky Ewe gives young Scottish people with additional support needs a chance to experience farming and animal husbandry. A group of winners – including Ken and Jannette Wedgeworth who won £1MMillion in 2016 – paid a visit to fit 30 newborn lambs with colourful, hand-knitted coats.

Jannette said, “It is fabulous to be able to do something creative and give our time to such a worthwhile charity. I have loved knitting the lamb coats and it is great to see them being put to such good use to ensure our new babies on the Fife coast are kept warm and healthy during the first few weeks of their lives.”

But what of our ‘newborn’ millionaires? Well, Lotto created 8 new National Lottery millionaires in April. Think that’s impressive? EuroMillions made an astonishing 20 new UK millionaires in a single day – 21st April, 2023. The total number of new EuroMillions players adding £1MMillion to their bank accounts in April was 27.

April also put a spring in the step of a lucky Set For Life player who won the top prize of £10,000 every month for 30 years.

Meanwhile, Thunderball came up trumps for a trio of players who each landed the game’s top prize of £500,000. That’s a lot of Easter eggs.

Instant Win Games had a phenomenal month. Pick of the bunch was a lucky player who won a prize of £5,000 every month for 30 years!

Scratchcards? Well, a lucky player scratched off a £1MMillion prize in April and a second won a staggering Scratchcard prize of £1.2MMillion.
